The voluntary charity organization Caritas Cyprus Κοινωνία – Youth Sector in the spirit of its social work and solidarity towards our less fortunate fellow people, organizes a fundraising event called « An act of love beautifies life ». The event will be held on the 26th of March 2016 in Ledra Street at Eleftheria Square between 14:00 to 20:00 hrs.
Our event will operate as a bazaar in which visitors will have the opportunity to buy and enjoy several delicacies and items. For instance, Cypriot handmade traditional delicacies, handmade jewelery and several other items.
The objective of the event is to raise funds for the purposes that serve our charity organization Caritas Cyprus – Κοινωνία mission.
Caritas Cyprus Youth was initially established in 2014 in order to raise the voice and opinion of young people within the Cypriot society. It was crucial for the organization to give them the opportunity to express freely their concerns and worries in regards to several problems that are troubling today’s society and altogether work towards possible solutions. Our organization has also certain objectives. One of the main objectives is to gather young people together and promote the significance of family and unity amongst them. We wish to highlight the importance of taking care of the elderly, the most vulnerable and the needy. For example during 2015 we took care of the elderly people in old people’s homes, we offered the migrants a new pair of athletic shoes and spent some quality time with them, we helped preparing food boxes to be given to poor families. During summer we hosted Caritas Youth Ambrosiana and we were able to share our experiences and get new ideas. We believe in « Where there is a will there is a way ».
