Αναχώρηση Πατριάρχη Καρδινάλιου Μαρ Νασράλλα Μπουτρός Σφέηρ Χριστός Ανέστη
Σύμφωνα με την επίσημη ανακοίνωση του Πατριαρχείου Μαρωνιτών, η Γραμματεία της Αρχιεπισκοπής Μαρωνιτών Κύπρου ανακοινώνει:
“Ο Πατριάρχης Καρδινάλιος Μάρ Μισάρα Μπουτρός Αλ-Ράι ανακοίνωσε την αναχώρηση του Πατριάρχη Καρδινάλου Μαρ Νασράλα Μπούτρος Σφέηρ, ο οποίος παραδόθηκε στο θέλημα του Θεού το πρωί της Κυριακής 12 Μαΐου 2019. Πήγε στον Πατέρα στον ουρανό μετά από τρεις ημέρες προσευχής σε εκκλησίες, μοναστήρια και οικίες».
Ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Μαρωνιτών της Κύπρου Σεβασμιότατος Ιωσήφ Σουέηφ μαζί με τους ιερείς, αφιερωμένους και πιστούς της Αρχιεπισκοπικής Περιφέρειας, αναπέμπουν προσευχές για τον αγαπημένο μας αείμνηστο Πατριάρχη Σφέηρ, ο οποίος «την αυγή την Κυριακή 12 Μαΐου κλήθηκε στο βασίλειο της αγάπης και για να εισέλθει στη νέα ζωή. ” Ο Αρχιεπίσκοπος Σουέηφ απευθύνει βαθύτατα συλλυπητήρια στον Μακαριότατο Πατριάρχη Μάρ Μπισάρα Μπουτρός Αλ-Ράι, τους Επισκόπους Μέλη της Ιεράς Συνόδου, στην οικογένεια, σε όλους τους πιστούς και στον Λίβανο.
Καλεί επίσης όλες τις εκκλησίες να προσευχηθούν για την ψυχή του Πατριάρχη, επιβεβαιώνοντας ότι «ο Πατριάρχης Σφέηρ θα παραμείνει πάντα στη συνείδηση της Εκκλησίας και του Λιβάνου ως κέδρος με βαθιές ρίζες στο Λόγο του Θεού και ιδιαίτερα ανυψωμένος στη λατρεία με πνεύμα και αλήθεια».
Η κηδεία θα πραγματοποιηθεί την Πέμπτη 16 Μαΐου 2019 στην εκκλησία του Πατριαρχείου Μαρωνιτών στις 17.00.

Departure of the Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir Christ is Risen
Based on the official announcement of the Maronite Patriarchate, the Secretariat of the Maronite Archbishopric of Cyprus announces the following:
“The Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bishara Boutros Al-Rai announced the departure of the Patriarch Cardinal Mar Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir, who surrendered to the will of God in the morning of Sunday, 12 May 2019. He went to the Father in heaven after three days of prayer in churches, monasteries and homes”.
The Maronite Archbishop of Cyprus HE Youssef Soueif together with the priests, consecrated and faithful of the Archeparchy raise their prayers for the intention of our beloved late Patriarch Sfeir who “at dawn on Sunday 12 May was called to be in the kingdom of love and to enter into the new life.”
Archbishop Soueif extends the deepest condolences to His Beatitude Patriarch Mar Bishara Boutros Al-Rai, to the Bishops Members of the Holy Synod, to the family, all the faithful and to Lebanon.
He calls all the churches to pray for the soul of the Patriarch, confirming that “Patriarch Sfeir will always remain in the conscience of the Church and in Lebanon as a cedar deeply rooted in the Word and highly elevated in worshiping God in spirit and truth.”
The funeral will take place on Thursday 16 May 2019 at the Church of the Maronite Patriarchate at 5.00 pm.
